Registration & De-registration

New motor vehicles registration:
Registration and acquisition of number plates for new motor vehicles is done at customs offices, except for: -

- vehicles sold through authorised dealers running private bonded warehouses and/or

- vehicles sold through government public auctions or embassies and other UN agencies with temporary importation regimes that will be registered at RRA motor vehicles services head office.

Requirements

1. A completed registration form provided by the RRA:
a. Motor vehicles property tax;
b. Road licence fee;
c. Number plate rental fee.

Upon completion of the above requirements, the taxpayer is entitled to:
a. Motor vehicles property tax payslip
b. Motor vehicle number plates
c. Annual motor vehicles tax sticker
d. Motor Vehicle Licence Card (Yellow Card).

2. Issuance and renewal of Tax Stickers

Motor vehicle owners have the obligation to renew their motor vehicle licences before the end of March each year.

At RRA motor vehicles office, a taxpayer will be required to provide the following: -

- Taxpayer identification number (issued free of charge);

- Number plate;

- The tax due by type;

- Number plate Rental fees;

- Property Tax;

- Road Licence fee.

Upon payment of the above tax dues, the taxpayer will be issued with a valid one-year tax sticker.
