Requirements for temporary importation

  • Importer’s and Clearing Agent’s details (name, TIN, physical address, E-mail address, postal address)
  • Description of goods (CPC, HS Code, name of goods, quantity, CIF value, origin)

 

For international organization or companies:

  • Existence of a signed and valid agreement or MoU with the Government of Rwanda with an exemption or temporary importation clause endorsed by MINECOFIN or MINAFET
  • To provide a project document and annual work plan approved by the line Ministry or Institution
  • Valid RGB Certificate
  • Bond in form of guarantee issued by Insurance Company or Bank
  • Bill of Quantity (where applicable) approved by the line Ministry or Institution
  • Documents of the cargo: commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of lading or Airway Bill and arrival notice

 

For individuals:

  • To be a foreigner (not Rwandan)
  • Valid ID / Passport and Visa
  • Valid agreement signed by his /her employer with the Government of Rwanda with an exemption or temporary importation clause
  • Valid employment contract signed with his/her employer
  • Recommendation from the line Ministry / Institution mentioning the special expertise of the applicant
  • Bond in form of guarantee issued by Insurance Company or Bank
  • Documents of the cargo: commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of lading or Airway Bill and arrival notice
